I have tested and bought a lot of toaster ovens either for my new home or as a gift for my friends. And of course, with the help of Consumer Report, Cook illustrated and Amazon owner review, I manage to find and own couple of best toaster ovens through out this few years. Personally, Krups FBC2 toaster oven is my favorite but if you are looking for space saving and good design, Sanyo SK-7S might be what you are looking for.

Anyway, I think different people have different need, but as long as we don’t buy the toaster oven that is broken down easily and doing “bad” toasting, we are pretty much happy with our toaster ovens:) Anyway, you will find more best toaster ovens review and recommendation coming up in my blog at below.

What To Look For in Your Best Toaster Ovens?

  1. Measure your counter space – Eventually toaster ovens require more space then other kitchen equipment, consider the space you are willing to give up before getting one.
  2. Safety comes first – Look for safety features such as auto shutoff and timer that shut the oven off when timed cooking ends.
  3. Look for removable adjustable toasting racks – Different toaster ovens have different racks, some of toaster ovens have 2 racks and some of them only have one. Consider your need.
  4. Removable crumb trays – As note here, Crumb trays that can be removed from the front are more convenient than those toaster ovens that must be removed from the back, look for those.
  5. Non-stick interior – As you know non-stick really make cleaning much easy. Some toaster oven have self-cleaning interior, which causes food particles to disintegrate. The T-Fal has self-cleaning walls, while the Krups has nonstick walls and some of them have neither.
  6. Decide whether you need more feature – some feature such as broil function usually cost more. By answering this question, you can save some money there.
  7. Consider your alternative – have more then one toaster ovens to buy, and consider your need before you buy.

Why Toaster Ovens?

I still remember when my friend recommends me to buy a toaster ovens, I was having the question why buy a toaster oven when I have perfectly good gas stove and oven in my kitchen. But it’s didn’t take me long before I seriously learn how to bake in order to understand how effective and efficient to use the toaster ovens.

Well, I didn’t started to with my best toaster ovens, it’s more like trying couple of them with the hope that they are the best toaster ovens before I start to go online to look for better or best toaster ovens through report and recommendation.

I’m known I want toaster ovens that fit into my kitchen space, ease of use, ease of cleaning, and portable ( not too ugly design too ). Yeap, I was looking for the best toaster ovens for my kitchen:)

In the past, you only see toaster ovens that toasted bread, bagels or waffles. Now with the improvement of home electronic product, you will see toaster ovens that cook just about anything you want … like heating up your quesadillas, personal pizza, baking and broiling.

Now, with more toaster oven branded, it’s harder for us to choose either. You will find top rated toaster ovens ranging from Cuisinart, T-Fal, Krups, Delonghi, Panasonic, Hamilton Beach and etc.

I have more high expectation for my best toaster ovens after I read the toaster oven recipes cook book – the gourmet toaster oven. Well, that’s another story. Anyway, here I will share my experience and reading about my work on how to pick the best toaster oven.
